This document describes the content of the meteocode data in CSV format.

The files for meteocode data in CSV format are created from the CMML files
using the XSLT technology. The CSV files does not contain more information than
the CMML files, they are only in a different format. Moreover, each CMML files contains
many regions while each CSV file contains only one region.

You can recreate for yourself the CSV files from the CMML by using the same XSLT files
that Environment Canada uses. This file is available at this address:

The filenames of the meteocode CSV files have the following nomenclature:
 YYYY-MM-DDTHH-MM-SSZ_FPAANN_rRRRR_BB.csv

where:
    * YYYY-MM-DDTHH-MM-SSZ: time of emission for the forecast. Date is in ISO 8601 format. 
    * FP: constant string meaning "Forecast Public".
    * AANN: See the section 'Filename' in the CMML README at http://dd.weatheroffice.gc.ca/meteocode/doc/cmml/README_CMML.txt
    * r: constant string indicating the beginning of the region code.
    * RRRR: alphanumerical code indicating the region of the public forecast. Can be of an arbitrary length (ex: 3pe, 10zf, 71.14). The complete list of forecast region and their associated code can be found at the end of this file in the section "Region's code and name".
    * BB: string indicating the weather elements. Can be one of the following values: TA (Air Tempature), TD (Dew Point), PA (Precipitation accumulation), POP (Probability Of Precipitation), WS (Wind Speed and Direction), CC (Cloud Cover).

* The ''-9999.00'' value is for a missing or an invalid data.
* All dates are in ISO 8601 format.

1. Air Temperature (TA)

This file contains the air temperature.

The first line of these files contains:

where:
* Region_en: English name of the forecast region;
* Region_fr: French name of the forecast region;
* CMML: constant string;
* cmml_filename.xml: name of the CMML file from which this CSV file originates;
* The 2 other values describe the content of each column:
** Forecast valid time
** Air temperature in degree Celsius.

Ce document décrit le contenu des fichiers
de données meteocode en format CSV.

Les fichiers des données meteocode en format CSV sont créés à partir des
fichiers en format CMML grâce la technologie XSLT. Les fichiers CSV ne
contiennent pas plus d'information que les fichiers CMML, ils sont
simplement dans un format différent. De plus, chaque fichier CMML contient
plusieurs régions alors que chaque fichier CSV n'est valide que pour une
seule région.

Les noms de fichiers ont la forme:
 YYYY-MM-DDTHH-MM-SSZ_FPAANN_rRRRR_BB.csv

où:
    * YYYY-MM-DDTHH-MM-SSZ: date d'émission de la prévision. En format ISO 8601.
    * FP: chaîne de caractères constante, signifiant prévision publique
(en anglais: Forecast Public).
    * AANN: Voir la section 'Nom de fichier' dans le README du CMML à cette adresse http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/meteocode/doc/cmml/README_CMML.txt
    * r: caractère constant indiquant le début du code de région.
    * RRRR: code alphanumérique indiquant la région de prévision publique.
Peut être d'une longueur arbitraire (ex: 3pe, 10zf, 71.14). La liste
complète des régions de prévisions ainsi que le code associé se trouvent à
la fin de ce fichier dans la section "Correspondance des codes de région
de prévision et des noms"
    * BB: chaîne de caractères indiquant l'élément du temps. Peut prendre
une de ces valeurs: TA (température de l'air), TD (point de rosée), PA (accumulation de précipitation), POP (probabilité de précipitation), WS (vitesse et direction du vent), CC (couverture nuageuse).

Selon la valeur de AA, le fichier CSV est acheminé dans le répertoire
selon cette liste:
* QX (Gander,N.F.) --> mtm
* HX (Halifax,  now Dartmouth ) --> mtm
* UL (Montréal) --> que
* QB (Québec)  --> que
